RE: University

Hey Jawad,

Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, we only provide legal advice here and do not assist with job searches. Therefore, you will need to take care of this yourself. Perhaps you could reach out to the international office of your university – they may be able to help you! Nevertheless, I can still provide you with some important information.

If you are a non-EU student with a student visa, you can generally have as many jobs as you want, but you need to ensure that you adhere to the 120 days/240 half-days rule. You are allowed to work for up to 120 days per year (each workday with more than 4 hours is considered a full day) or 240 half-days (each up to 4 hours/day). Exceeding these limits may risk the loss of your residence permit. This applies to jobs with a regular weekly working time of 40 hours in full-time. So, if you work 12 hours per week in a job that would have a 40-hour week in full-time, each day with more than 4 hours that you have worked so far this year in your job is considered a full day according to the 120-day regulation.
Your job as a student assistant at the university is an exception to the 120-day rule and therefore does not count towards it.

Moreover, maybe you can find some useful information on the following homepage:

If you have further questions, you can write us again. Best wishes
